At the start of the school year, families were asked to complete a Household Survey Form which provided the district family income information. This information is used by the district to determine the number of students we serve who qualify and are eligible for Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) [what used to be known as the fee waiver/free or reduced lunch status].
Benefits for CEP eligible students include:
ACT TESTING: CEP eligible students may take the ACT college readiness test FREE of CHARGE two times during their high school career. This is in addition to the test given to all 11th graders and paid for by the State of Tennessee. Thus, a qualifying student could essentially take the ACT three times FREE of charge.
SAT TESTING: CEP eligible students can get up two SAT test registration and two SAT Subject Area Test (up to 3 subjects on one test date) registration fee waivers. You need to be in the 11th or 12th grade to use a fee waiver for the SAT. If they use a waiver to take the SAT, then they are also eligible for college application fee waivers and unlimited free score reports.
COLLEGE APPLICATION FEE WAIVERS: To submit an application to college, students typically pay $30-$75 for each individual application. CEP eligible students can have fee waivers submitted on their behalf. Please be advised that each college makes their own rules regarding application fee waivers; some take the general NACAC waiver, some insist on the SAT waiver, and some restrict the number of waivers accepted from any individual high school.
Providing a top notch education to our students requires a significant amount of resources. We recognize that financial resources are limited for many these days. Some of our families face tough economic pressures. If there are additional ways we may be of assistance, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
